Demi in Progress

I got started on Demi this weekend.  I took off early from work on Friday and picked up the book, and have gotten a little bit done this weekend.  I followed the trend and started with a sleeve.  This is definitely going to be a slow one -- I've never had to work so slavishly from a chart.  And considering that I'm almost done with my first ball of chamonix, I'm beginning to have doubts about having enough yarn... in fact, I'm having doubts about it being even close.  But I am pretty happy with the chamonix -- as soft as it feels in the ball, it's even more luscious knitted up.  I can't wait to wear it, which is unfortunate, as it'll probably be 2007 by the time it's done.  Here's what I've got so far (I just did the first increase row):

oooo, it looks great so far! The pink softens the pattern in a nice way. the chart is slow, isn't it? I am almost to the point where the two charts have to be followed separately. Maybe after a little bit, it will click and go faster :-)

I love the pink! I've found the chart-following to be pretty tedious too. It's making me wish I'd started with a sleeve like the rest of you smart knitalongers.

keep on truckin'! it looks nice so far! i'm not sure if my yarn will make it all the way through or not either! maybe everyone on the knit along will have the same problem, and we'll all meet someday wearing strangely disproportionate sweaters.. who knows!
